Project Description

Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board

In 2021 Sculpture by the Bay announced the establishment of the  Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board to recognise the achievements of multiple-time winners of the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award.  In future events, Artists who have won the award three times will automatically progress to the Honour Board.

Congratulations to Daniel Fisher, the inaugural entrant onto the Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board. Daniel has won the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award in  2016 ‘Return to Gaia’ , 2019 ‘The Guardian’ , 2020 ‘Dance of the Dryads’ and,  shared the  award in 2017 with his work ‘The Alchemist’.

Artists entered onto the Honour Board are excluded from nominating for the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award for the following two years.

Eligibility for the Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board, and Amendments to the Terms of the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award
  • Artists who have won the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award three times, either consecutively or non-consecutively, are automatically entered onto the Honour Board after their third win, along with images of their winning works,  Artist Portrait Image and short Artist Biography.
  • Artists entered onto the Honour Board will receive additional media promotion.
  • The Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board is established on the Sculpture by the Bay website under the Gallery section.
  • Artists on the Honour Board are unable to nominate for the Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award for the following two Sculpture by the Bay exhibitions.  For example, if they win their third award in 2021 they would not be eligible to enter for this award  again until 2024.  Artists entered on the Sculpture by the Bay Honour Board are not restricted from entering other awards during this period.
  • The Dianne Laurance Sculptural Excellence Award  is no longer an ‘open’ award, due to these conditions,  and entering Artists will need to nominate for this award.
