About Dunsborough Sculpture by the Bay
For just three days each March long weekend the Dunsborough Foreshore at the end of Dunn Bay Road is transformed, as artists provide a visual display of outdoor sculptural works for all to enjoy.
The vision of Sculpture By The Bay is to be inclusive, to encourage more and more people to express themselves through sculptural works that are relatable, tell a story, and are accessible to those that appreciate the art.
The objective is to; foster interest in Public artwork, to provide a venue for artists of outdoor works to exhibit, and in particular, to develop a Sculpture Trail within the Dunsborough area. Click here to view a map of the Dunsborough Sculpture Trail.
The event commenced in 2010 with just 12 artworks on display, and grew to over 50 outside sculptures, and 38 small inside sculptures for the March Long Weekend in 2021.
The inaugural 2019 Small Sculpture Prize has provided artists the opportunity to exhibit smaller works created with a wider range of media.
Public participation grows each year with in excess of 10,000 people estimated to have viewed the art in March 2021.
As well, the local community wholeheartedly supports the event with many volunteering to assist before and during the display.
Sculpture by the Bay and the Dunsborough Arts Festival 2022 are coordinated entirely by local volunteers of the Dunsborough Progress Association. Bringing community together.
