ABOUT

For just three days each March long weekend the Dunsborough Foreshore at the end of Dunn Bay Road is transformed, as artists provide a visual display of outdoor sculptural works for all to enjoy.

The event commenced in 2010 with just 12 artworks on display, and grew to 45 outside sculptures, and 28 small inside sculptures for the March Long Weekend in 2019.

Sculpture by the Bay is coordinated entirely by local volunteers of the Dunsborough Progress Association.

Their purpose is to; foster interest in Public artwork, to provide a venue for artists of outdoor works to exhibit, and in particular, to develop a Sculpture Trail within the Dunsborough area. The inaugural 2019 Small Sculpture Prize has given artists the opportunity to exhibit smaller works created with a wider range of media.

Public participation grows each year with in excess of 10,000 people estimated to have viewed the art in March 2019.

As well, the local community wholeheartedly supports the event with many volunteering to assist before and during the display.

SPONSORS

Ongoing success led to the expansion of Sculpture by the Bay in 2019 to include a Small Sculpture Prize. The Committee partnered with Christian Fletcher Gallery in Dunsborough for the display of the Small Sculpture Prize exhibition with the opportunity to exhibit up to 40 works.

Sponsorship of awards for both exhibitions is provided by individual community members, and local businesses who have a strong belief in the importance of the event for the community, as well as supporting artists in their creative endeavours. Without our sponsors continued commitment to Sculpture by the Bay it would not be possible for the event to be the success it is.

If you, or your business, would be interested in sponsoring an award at either Sculpture by the Bay, or the Small Sculpture Prize, please read the linked Sponsorship Program document and contact the organising committee at admin@sculpturebythebay.com.au

Sponsorship has grown and the Committee are extremely grateful to the following sponsors for their support:

Dianne Laurance

Erl & Ros Happ of Happs Wines on Commonage Road

Mike & Gillian McAuliffe of Braeco Sales, Osborne Park

Joe White & Ben Jecks of JMW Real Estate in Dunsborough

The City of Busselton

Christian & Jenny Fletcher of Christian Fletcher Gallery in Dunsborough
